Midwest Strong: Critical Care and Crisis

Join us for the SCCM Midwest Chapter's 7th Annual Conference with a focus on Disaster Management. We have multiprofessional presenters discussing and holding workshops focused on multiprofessional ways to handle crisis situations and other critical care topics.  Presenters and topics are still being finalized. The format will include presentations, table-top crisis mitigation scenarios, an expert panel and discussion, and research/poster presentations.

We encourage sites to establish a local zoom meeting room where the audience can interact with each other and the speakers, although individuals can also participate. Each person requesting CE will need to register.

A Fundamentals of Critical Care Support course will be held on Saturday, September 19th. Date and times are to be determined. The cost is $40 for each attendee. Only 12 spots are available so sign up early before all the spots are taken!

Registration fee: is $100 for non-members of the Chapter, $50 for members. Fees will be waived for trainees presenting their research (a coupon will be provided).

Hotel Discount: See attached document (on the right) for hotel QR code to link to discounted rates.

Research Abstracts: Research Abstracts can be uploaded here. All accepted abstracts will be featured during the conference, and top submissions will be recognized with awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.  Abstracts may cover any area of critical care, including clinical research, quality improvement, education, case series, or innovative clinical practices.

Overall Objectives: Discuss disaster management topics and scenarios, methods to maintain composure during the crisis, and identify ways to improve the crisis response at your local institution.
